The mayor of Tineo, Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00f3n Feito Lorences, the councilor for Forestry, Marcos Da Rocha Rodr\u00edguez, and the general director of Planning, Agrarian Infrastructures and Forestry of the Principality of Asturias, Fernando Prendes Hern\u00e1ndez-Heres, participated this Thursday in the meeting of the organizing committee of the international forestry fair Asturforesta 2021, in which the sixteen members of the Committee showed their unanimous support and willingness to advance in the preparation of the 2021 edition on Mount Armay\u00e1n, taking advantage of the positive balance of the 2019 edition and the interest that the contest has for professionals in the forestry and biomass sector in southern Europe.<\/p>\n

Asturforesta 2019 had the participation of 124 companies, 20 of them from outside Spain, mainly from Portugal and Finland, and 258 brands were represented, 83% international. In addition, throughout 2019, Asturforesta was present at different professional fairs, which made it possible to close agreements with several companies interested in attending the 2021 edition.<\/p>\n

In this meeting, the ideal conditions of the fairgrounds located on Mount Armay\u00e1n were confirmed to hold the event with all the health guarantees for visitors and exhibitors in the event that the current pandemic circumstances persist in the summer. The arrangement of exhibitors and areas for demonstrations of machinery in a circular circuit facilitates the one-way movement of visitors as well as accommodating new companies with all security conditions.<\/p>\n

It was also agreed to include new members in the organizing committee of Asturforesta 2021, in addition to continuing with the work of promoting and attracting new exhibitors.<\/p>\n

Asturforesta will be held at Monte Armay\u00e1n de Tineo (Asturias), from June 17 to 19, 2021, as planned. It is the only International Forestry Fair on the Iberian Peninsula, as well as the only Spanish one integrated into the Network of International Forestry Demo Fairs.
